Kota Ray Dam is open for day use as of Friday, June 6. Camping and camping reservations will be allowed beginning Monday, June 9, at 8:30 am for dates between June 9 and October 31. When visiting the park, please follow on-site signs and avoid areas where new grass is growing.

The park at Kota Ray Dam is located about 10 miles south of Ray and offers fishing, camping, boating and more. The park and campground underwent an extensive redesign and renovation project in 2024/2025. Kota Ray Dam now offers a youth Pedal Park, an outdoor lawnchair amphitheater (opening soon!), refreshed campsites with electric and water hookups, and comfort stations with showers.

Additional Information
Boating
Motorized and non-motorized watercraft are allowed, but the lake is NO WAKE. There is a canoe/kayak launch located on the lake on each side of the park.
Campfires
Campfires may only be built in the provided fire rings, which may not be moved from their current location. All fires must be supervised by a person of at least 18 years of age and must be maintained in a safe manner in accordance of the ND Rangeland Fire Danger Index. Firewood is available from the Camp Host for $10 per bundle (cash only; while supplies last). If bringing your own firewood, local is best! At campgrounds in ND, firewood must originate within 100 miles of the campground, unless it has been officially certified as pest-free, and ideally, firewood should be transported less than 50 miles from its origin.
Comfort Stations
Kota Ray Dam now offers modern comfort stations complete with push-button showers and restrooms, including ADA restrooms. Comfort Stations are located on each side of the park.
Pedal Park
Kota Ray Dam is now home to a brand-new youth pedal park! The park features small ramps, jumps, and several obstacles. Only non-motorized bicycles are allowed.

Camping will open at 8:30 am CT on Monday, June 9, for dates between June 9 and October 31.
Nightly Camping
Electric Campsites: $15/night
Between May 15 and September 15, reservations must be made online.
KRD - North
There are two campsites with electrical (20/30/50 amp) and potable water hookups (Sites N1 and N2).
KRD - South
There are 12 campsites with electrical (20/30/50 amp) and potable water hookups (Sites S1 - S12).
Group Campsites: $40/night
Up to three (3) RVs are allowed per group site.
KRD - North
There are two Group Campsites (G1 and G2), each with three sites with electrical (20/30/50 amp) and potable water hookups. Up to three RVs or tents can be in the same Group Site. When booking, please indicate how many units (RVs and/or tents) you will have.
