Renewal of vector control fee for City of Williston residents up for vote
Williston, N.D., (April 10, 2024) – On the June 11 Primary Election ballot the Williams County Vector Control District #1 Board will be asking City of Williston voters to renew the $4 monthly fee for Vector Control for the next four years. The fee was last voted on in 2020.
Williams County Vector Control District #1, previously known as the Williston Vector Control District #1, is responsible for monitoring mosquito-borne diseases and managing mosquito populations in the City of Williston and the surrounding areas.
The monthly fee aids in funding Vector Control operations within the City of Williston. These operations include surveillance of mosquito populations, arbovirus testing, and the application of pesticides with aircraft and ground equipment. Costs are spread out over the course of the year for billing purposes in the City of Williston.
