Aerial Adulticide Treatment | WCVCD and USAFR | 7/15 – 7/19/2024

UPDATE 7/17/2024: Due to aircraft issues, the USAFR will be unable to complete mosquito treatments this week for Williston and Watford City. Aerial adulticide treatments will instead be completed by the Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD). Weather and conditions permitting, treatment for Williston will be completed tonight, Wednesday, July 17 and treatment for Watford City will be completed on Thursday, July 18. Treatments will take place near sunset.

The WCVCD uses Zenivex E20 for adult mosquito control treatments (adulticides), which contains the active ingredient Etofenprox. Zenivex E20 is a product approved for use in residential areas by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

UPDATE – 7/16/2024: Based on their current schedule, and weather and conditions permitting, the USAFR will likely conduct an adulticide treatment over Williston and Watford City on Wednesday, July 17. Treatment will take place near sunset. For more information, please see original post below.

Additional Treatment: Between Wednesday, July 17, and Friday, July 19, weather and conditions permitting, the WCVCD will conduct an aerial adulticide treatment in City of Williston blocks 13, 15, and 16, east of the Little Muddy, and in the rural area of Williams County west of Trenton towards the Confluence. These areas are located outside of the USAFR treatment zones. The WCVCD uses Zenivex E20 for adult mosquito control treatments (adulticides), which contains the active ingredient Etofenprox. Zenivex E20 is a product approved for use in residential areas by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

7/10/2024: In collaboration with the Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD), the United States Air Force Reserve (USAFR) Youngstown Air Reserve Station 910th Airlift Wing will be conducting an adulticide mission over Williston and Watford City, weather and conditions permitting, between July 15 and July 19, 2024. Large military aircraft will be flying at low elevations during the mission. Treatments will take place near sunset.

The USAFR will be using Trumpet EC with active ingredient Naled for the adulticide treatments. Trumpet EC approved for use in residential areas by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
