How to Search in the Records Room

How to Search Land Records

  1. Start with a land description if possible (a land description is: Township-Range-Section or Subdivision Name, lot & block)
    • Or search by Party Name (Last Name, First Name)
      • You CANNOT search by both a land description and a name at the same time. Zero results will appear.
  2. To ensure a thorough search, compare the computer search results to the correlating tract index. In the tract book indexes you will find a list of all the documents relating to that specific property description. The index will list the documents by:
    • Book & Page or Document #
    • Books must always be entered in a 4-digit format ex. ‘Book A’ would be entered as 000A.
  3. Enter the Book/Page or Document # into the search screen on idocmarket and hit search.
  4. Review documents that populate in your search results & click to view document.
