Williston, N.D., (June 21, 2022) – The Williams County Sheriff’s Office received a call on June 19, 2022, regarding an incident involving a shooting in rural Williams County. Upon arrival on the scene, Deputies found that Leslie Anne Lyon, a 25-year-old female from Wisconsin, had been shot and was deceased. David Handeland, a 58-year-old male from Epping, North Dakota was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Williams County Correctional Center on charges of Murder (AA Felony) and Terrorizing (C Felony). The investigation is ongoing and no additional details will be provided.
