Williams County releases 2024 Tourism Grant Program application

Williston, N.D., (February 12, 2024) – The 2024 Williams County Tourism Grant Program application is now open for projects that will promote and encourage visitation to Williams County. A total of $85,000 from the Visitor Promotion Fund is available for capital projects, events, and advertising initiatives that attract visitors to Williams County, including using local travel and tourism facilities. The grants serve as a way to reinvest Williams County hospitality-related tax revenue back into the community. About $130,000 has been awarded by Williams County for Tourism Grants since the program began in 2022.

For 2024, a total of $60,000 is available for capital projects and $25,000 is available for events and advertising. Applicants can be a public, for-profit, or non-profit entity, but must be located, or the event must be taking place, outside of the City of Williston, but within Williams County. An application can contain several types of expenses, but the total amount requested must not exceed $20,000 for a capital project or $5,000 for events and advertising. Grant funds can cover up to 80% of the total cost of the proposed project. Applications are due by 9 am on March 25, 2024.

Applications will be reviewed by the Tourism Grant Application Review Committee. Awards will be selected by the Williams County Board of County Commissioners during their April 16 Commission meeting.

Additional information and the grant application can be found on the Tourism Grant Program webpage.
