Although the County Superintendent of Schools plays a lead role in public school district boundaries, school districts themselves are considered their own political subdivision and are governed by their own school boards. For more information about each school district, or to find out how to enroll your child, please select from the links below.
There are two also private schools located in Williams County: Williston Trinity Christian School and St. Joseph's Catholic School.

Formulation of School District #7
During the November 2020 General Election, voters approved the reorganization of Williston Public School District #1 and Williams County Public School District #8 into a new school district: Williston Basin Public School District #7. The new school district went into effect on July 1, 2021.
