In collaboration with the Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD), the United States Air Force Reserve (USAFR) will be conducting an aerial spray mission over Williston between July 15, 2025, and July 17, 2025, if weather and conditions allow.
The public may see a large military aircraft flying at low elevations in the evening as treatments will take place near sunset.
The USAFR will be using Trumpet EC with active ingredient Naled for this adulticide treatments. Trumpet EC is approved for use in residential areas by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
To avoid mosquito bites, residents are advised to take extra precautions when spending time outdoors during the hours of dusk to dawn during the summer months. Wearing long sleeve, tight-knit shirts and long pants, limiting time outdoors during these times, and using a mosquito repellent such as DEET, Picardin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus are good actions to take to prevent bites. Residents can help prevent mosquito re-population by eliminating standing water on their property.
