NOTICE ground mosquito treatment

8/5/25: The Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD) will be conducting ground adulticide treatments in Ray, Grenora, and Trenton after sunset Tuesday, August 5, 2025, weather and conditions permitting. If conditions do not allow, the treatments will be rescheduled for Wednesday, August 6.

Ground adulticide applications will take place in Ray and Grenora using Zenivex, which contains the active ingredient Etofenprox. Trenton will be treated using DeltaGard, which contains the active ingredient Deltamethrin. Weather permitting, treatments will occur near sunset. Residents are reminded to maintain a distance of at least 300 feet from Vector Control trucks during fogging operations.

Both Zenivex and DeltaGard are approved for residential mosquito control by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

To avoid mosquito bites, residents are encouraged to take precautions when spending time outdoors between dusk and dawn.

  • Wear long sleeve tight knit shirts and long pants
  • Limit time outdoors between dusk and dawn
  • Use a mosquito repellent such as DEET, Picardin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus
  • Eliminating standing water on your property
