7/30/25: The Williams County Vector Control District (WCVCD) will be conducting both aerial and ground applications this week between July 31 and August 1, 2025.
The aerial sprays are planned to treat Williston, Trenton and Grenora. WCVCD will be using the product Imperium for aerial portion. Imperium contains Deltamethrin as an active ingredient.
Due to the isolated detection of West Nile Virus in a small development of in the southwest portion of the county, WCVCD will also conduct ground ULV adulticide applications by August 1. Sprays will be focused south of Trenton (near Buford) and in the south river area (just beyond Williston’s spray. WCVCD will use DeltaGard (with the active ingredient Deltamethrin) for these ground sprays. Residents are reminded to please stay at least 300 feet away from Vector Control trucks while they are fogging.
Both Imperium and DeltaGard are approved for residential mosquito control by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
All treatments will begin after sunset; missions will be postponed to a later date if weather and conditions do not allow.
