Welcome to Williams County! Nestled in the Northwest portion of North Dakota, we border Montana and the County seat, Williston, is 70 miles from Canada. The County was organized on December 8, 1891. We are a proud community of 19,761 people of mostly Scandinavian and Germanic descent. Agriculture, oil, and tourism are the basis of our economy.
